The 5103-M1000 metallurgical microscope features:

• Bright field objectives for observing specimens that have contrast or color (i.e., stained histological specimens)
• Infinity correction system, polarized observation
• Köhler illumination creates uniform illumination of the specimen and ensures that the image of the illumination source is not visible in the final image
• 50x and 100x magnification objectives are spring-loaded (they have a spring-loaded front lens to prevent damage to both the objective and the specimen)
